Here in Puddle Ducks we like to get very very messy! Shaving foam, paint and water play are some of our favourite activities. Messy play activities are great for learning new words and encouraging lots of language from the little ones. Another thing we love to do on the farm is go on walks around the big hill. We get to see the donkeys, pigs, sheep and horses!
In Puddle Ducks we focus on the three prime areas of learning; personal, social and emotional development, communication and language and physical development. Focusing on the three main areas helps to develop the children's confidence so that they can thrive, be happy, be independent and be ready to learn.
"I first began studying my level 3 in Health and Social care back in 2011 and through completing placements, I knew that working in childcare was what I wanted to do. Now I am currently studying my Early Years Leadership Degree at Edge Hill University.
I first joined BFDN in October 2017 as a room leader. I have now progressed into the role of Under Two's Manager.
I love all types of messy and sensory play. Spending time on the farm with the animals or going on a big walk is one of my favourite things to do here on the farm!"
Hi my name is Vicky. I work Wednesday, Thursday and Friday's with the under 2's.I have worked with children for many years and I hold a level 3 qualification. Recently I have completed a Makaton training course and supporting children with additional needs and a safeguarding course. I love to create art work with the children. I love the farm ethos, planting fruit and vegetables so that the children can watch them grow. I love that we are able to spend time with the animals as this is an amzing experience forthe children.
"Hi, I am Caroline. I work Wednesdays and Thursdays in Puddle Ducks and I have 13 years of childcare experience.
I am currently studying full time for a BA(hons) Early Years Childhood Studies degree and I am a mum of two small children. I am an active person who loves the outdoors, so my favourite part of the job is going on lovely farm walks and using our nursery surroundings to full effect!"
