Welcome to Little Lambs! We are the first room here at Beechwood Farm Day Nursery and welcome babies between 3-12 months. We focus on lots of exploration activities and sensory play to encourage the development of babies senses and the start of independent learning. Messy play is also a big part o the daily routine, where you can find lots of different materials including, water, sand, shaving foam and custard (sometimes all together!) being explored. Little Lambs have their own sheltered outside area giving opportunity for lots of outdoor activities.
We focus on making the environment as calming and as homely as possible to ensure babies feel comfortable and settled. We also have dedicated staff who support both baby and carers to ensure a smooth settling in period. The room is self contained and has all the equipment needed to support your home routines. As your baby develops, routines are likely to change. The team are always happy to discuss and start implementing developments as and when needed to ensure baby is as comfortable in nursery as at home.
As your baby nears the age of 1, they will begin to transition into our older room, Puddle Ducks. Key workers will focus on ensuring children are ready for this next stage. They will also work closely with the team in Puddle Ducks to make the transition as seamless as possible.
"Hi, I'm Claire, I am 42 years old and have been married to my lovely husband for over 13 years! As well as my level 3 in childcare, I hold a behaviour management qualification and have completed a noodle training course which covers all aspects of child development. I have over 26 years experience of looking after children in a variety of settings including nursery and nannying (at one time I was nannying for 9 children!). I don't have much spare time, but when I do, me and my husband like going to the cinema and going to the gym (usually to use the hot tub and relax rather than work out!)"
I have worked with children for lots of years and I hold a level 3 qualification. I have recently completed a Makaton training course, which supports children with their communication. I have completed an intensive safeguarding course which helps me understand processes and to keep the children safe. I love to create art work with the children. I love the farm ethos, planting fruit and vegetables so that the children can watch them grow. I love that we are able to spend time with the animals as this is an amazing experience for the children.
